Product Description
Hot rolled steel flats in straight lengths suitable for a variety of structural, engineering and pressworking applications. After suitable preparation the product will accept a variety of finishes e.g. galvanising and painting.

Size Range
Hot rolled flats are available in most combinations of width and thickness within the range specified below:

Hot Mill 1
from 16mm up to 80mm wide, by 3mm up to 15mm thick.

Hot Mill 2
from 10mm up to 30mm wide, by 2mm up to 8mm thick.

Special profiles can be rolled within similar geometric limits.

Tolerances
BS970 Pt. 1 dimensional tolerances are standard for mill edge hot mill flats.

Width
10 to 35mm +/- 0.5mm, 35 to 75mm +/- 0.8mm,
over 75mm +/- 1.0mm

Thickness
up to 10mm +/- 0.4mm, over 10mm +/- 0.5mm

Length
Standard +300mm, Exacts +50mm, Re-sheared +6mm

Special tolerances and SPC analysis can be supplied by agreement.

Supply Condition
Bars are available in lengths up to 8.0 metres. Bar ends are cleanly sheared. Standard bundles are 2000 kg secured with tensioned bands. Smaller bundles available by agreement. Hot Mill 2 flats are also available in coil.

Ancillary Services
Re-shearing, cold straightening, pickling and oiling, special bundling and wrapping.
